You don't even know if Rat can do that, Atty. ...I think he just didn't know the name of anything else he might be able to do.
See y'all soon.
What? I thought Raichus were slow.
@AerialAtom: Surge's was. He never bothered teaching it any speed-based moves. A mistake clearly not repeated with Shockbuddy.
@The Missingno. Master: If memory serves Surge shoved a thunderstone into his face the moment he got him. At least in the anime.
@Takai: Yeah, he said he evolved Pikachu as soon as he got it.
@AerialAtom: Raichu's speed base stat is higher than pikachu's. But only pikachu learns quick attack, double team and agility, so... attention needed when deciding what level to evolve :)
You got this, Rat!!
With all the abuse Rat has taken, hearing Atty giving him a non suicidal command must feel so good to him right now.
Quick attack back.
I believe in you, Rat! You can do it!
If Atty gave Rat a Potion, this might be less suicidal. But if he didn't give one to Venus, who he actually cares about, I doubt he'll do it now.
@mewrose: Since he hasn't used a potion yet at this point, I kind of assume he doesn't know they exist. Or at least that he doesn't have any. George might suddenly remember that she has some potions in her bag. Or maybe she won't remember until after Atty loses.
@Guest: He found ONE potion and used it on DT in eh first gym. I doubt he's bothered to buy any or even check his bag for any after that point, though.
Usually the games give you one potion at the start, but on a first play through you wouldn't know that and so Atty probably thinks the one he found was the only one he had.
So, that Pikachu wound up with alot of SpDef EV's, huh?
@Leomendarus: No, this is Gen 1. There is no SpDef. So Rat would have a lot of Sp EV's.
@Thanatos1320: in gen 1 there's no EV's at all. It's all stat experience.
I know, backwards times.
There is a Feraligatr in the comic. It's obviously not following the red/blue/yellow games perfectly.
So wait, if both of them quick attack, which one hits first?
@Wisp: The one with the higher speed stat.
Quick get hit faster!!!
Raichu's pose in the first panel...
Is it... flirting with Rat? That's a sorta "paint me like one of your french 'mons" pose. Sort of a sassy flirtation pose... am I looking too deeply into this?
Actually, I don't think we found out if the Raichu is a he or a she. It would be kind of funny if it ended up flirting with Rat after the battle is over.
*Imagines Rat gradually building up a harem of pokemon, only, instead of being dense and oblivious like Ash was, he ends up being terrified of the very notion lawlz XD*
@Guest: Rat is male assuming H0ly is smart enough to know the gender differences. Female Pikachus have a heart shape tip for their tails.
@Zelkova: Not in Gen 1 they didn't, also I was referring to the Raichu. Rat is obviously male, but Raichu might not be :)
@Guest: Raichu's a male. Go a few pages back and you can see the tail tip, which is a male's.
I guess you could say...
The "ship" set sail. YEEEEAAAHHH
Lets run in circles for next page.
Quick attack quicker than he does!
"and even atty does a bit too"
the highest praise rat will ever get from atty
We believe in you, Rat!
*ear falls off*
... we still believe!
Alright guys, not sure what this is about but Ima clear this up real fast and stuff.
Even if it was true that Raichu is not female, and for the fact that this comic sits somewhere between Gen 1 & 2 due to Feraligatr, gender differences based on sprite differing appearances weren't even a thing until Gen 3 or 4 if I remember correctly. And the only thing Gen II introduced with gender was that stats were different based on whether the pokemon was a boy or girl (and that was done away with in Gen 3).
In short, there is no way of knowing at this point as to what Raichu's gender is unless the comic itself states it out right, period! Also, why the hell is this such a big deal anyways? (Not upset, it just seems like everyone is nit picking things is all im saying.)
Hence: Does anyone still remember the Voltorb that knew thundershock, yeah nope didn't think so XD
Atty actually gave a command. A proper command, kind off.
Music playing in the background: Anything you can chu I can chu better.
