See y'all soon.

Reply sconic123, 27 Mar 2015 05:06 pm

Ah karp...

Reply Connor (Guest), 27 Mar 2015 05:08 pm

Well, that's one way to keep it safe...

Fish, keep away master XD

Reply Vee (Guest), 27 Mar 2015 05:09 pm

Koi Pond People say carp will eat just about anything. Fish proves this. Now let's see him eat a Hyper Beam so he can raise his S. DEF.

Reply Marcos, 27 Mar 2015 05:14 pm

eating a badge to protect those you love... we really need to give Fish more credit. He is always there for Atty, through thick and thin. it's the ageless story of a man an his loyal fish. ...sniff. Brings a tear to me eye it does.

Reply Takeshre, 27 Mar 2015 05:29 pm

It really does make you wonder... Pokemon like Dragonthing and Rat make their thoughts and emotions fairly clear. However, Fish (and the Oddish to a lesser extent) usually wear blank expressions... Just what's going on in their heads?

Reply aescula (Guest), 27 Mar 2015 05:49 pm

@Takeshre I'm fairly sure most of what's going on in Fish's head is "PUT ME BACK IN THE WATER FOR THE LOVE OF ARCEUS"

Also "HEY THIS THING LOOKS LIKE WATER MAYBE I CAN BREATHE IT" *gulps down a Cascade Badge*

Reply Cave, 27 Mar 2015 06:20 pm

LOVE that third panel. So much tension in one still shot.

Reply RazorD9, 27 Mar 2015 06:33 pm

And with that Artemis blows up, Atty escapes, Fish is officially named and is placed as his third choice, George catches the seel and Rat continues to be ignored.

Reply BattleStarX, 27 Mar 2015 06:34 pm

At this point, I say let the fish keep it. I certainly ain't reachin' in there to get it.

Especially not with those fangs...

Reply IvyDoodle, 27 Mar 2015 06:46 pm

Oddly heard that Waaah continue in slow motion in that third panel...

Reply Luxnight (Guest), 27 Mar 2015 07:29 pm

Love that fifth panel with the tongue flick.

Fish: Karp, karp. (Nope, mine.) *Eats*

But hey, it could've been planned. Thinking if he swallowed it, he could protect it. Yeah, Fish has a lot more going on in his karpy brain than Atty thinks. :3

Reply Vi (Guest), 27 Mar 2015 07:50 pm

lololol excellent.
Also, that is some damn fine line art. Yah might not have a spare moment, but if there's another poster in its way, could you include a 'colour me in' line art version?

Reply NatsFan, 27 Mar 2015 07:59 pm

evolve evolve evolve evolve...

Reply Evilbob_dA, 27 Mar 2015 08:07 pm

And unknown to both parties, the Cascade Badge is ACTUALLY (and always has been), a Water Stone in DISGUISE. DUN DUN DUNNNNNN.

Reply (Guest) (Guest), 27 Mar 2015 08:20 pm

@Evilbob_dA: Which means nothing here. Magikarp evolves by level-up.

Reply ae0n, 27 Mar 2015 08:28 pm

@(Guest): may be so, but with all the flapping that it has done in following him, it may just be the final nudge to make him evolve.

Reply Kai Mazie, 27 Mar 2015 08:53 pm

I truly wonder about the effects (if any) that badge will have on that magikarp, I wonder this because in the original manga series for pokemon the badges actually possessed a type of energy in them.

soo one could ponder if the badges in this series (which btw is awesome) are similar.

Reply leo_dragon_knight, 27 Mar 2015 08:57 pm

See! He is helping!

Reply Graham (Guest), 27 Mar 2015 09:01 pm

How much EXP did Fish get for defeating the two of them in their battle?

Reply MilkyTea, 27 Mar 2015 09:02 pm

Now they have to wait for it to poop it out...:I

Reply Tijopi11, 27 Mar 2015 09:08 pm

@Kai Mazie: I'm not exactly an expert on the manga series and don't particularly remember it all that much, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it's the badges themselves that have that power. I think it was kinda-sorta established that the the badge symbolized the power of the trainer and thus was able to make Pokemon respect him/her. So in other words you don't got a badge, your pokemon thinks you're weak, you gain the badge, it's a sort of symbol to your pokemon that you're dependable and can raise them correctly somehow.

Reply Kai Mazie, 27 Mar 2015 09:43 pm

@Tijopi11:
(info provided from Bulbapedia)
In Pokémon Adventures, Badges have mystical and mysterious qualities that can somehow increase the power of the Pokémon owned by the Trainer who wields the Badges, just as the Boulder Badge increases the Pokémon's Attack stat in the games. In addition, Badges that don't allow higher leveled Pokémon to obey, such as the Soul Badge, do indeed allow the wearer to control even Legendary Pokémon such as Articuno.
-------------------------------------
the above info corresponds with what I have actually read in the manga itself, I hope you find this info helpful and not rude as I just like talking about pokemon ^_^

Reply qazox, 27 Mar 2015 10:01 pm

The irony.

Reply Critic, 27 Mar 2015 10:48 pm

So Fish evolves, and beats up Artemis, and hands the badge to Atty (He had it in his mouth, but didn't swallow it.) Atty and George ride of on Fish, escaping the policemen. Fish and the Oddish (Needs a name!) laugh at Rat (Why does the cute Pikachu have to ignored?) and the journey continues!

Reply Feartheswans, 27 Mar 2015 11:25 pm

Why do I see Fish as the 'Chaotic Evil' of the group? I just I don't know why, but it feels right.

Reply Myou (Guest), 28 Mar 2015 12:28 am

@Critic: I was under the impression that Atty's Oddish was occasionally (non-canonically) referred to as "Weed" in the chat.

Reply MrZAP, 28 Mar 2015 02:14 am

Well, that's one way to level up EVs.

Reply RudeCanadian (Guest), 28 Mar 2015 02:55 am

@Takeshre: Murder and the will to dominate all life

Reply ArcusofBrambles (Guest), 28 Mar 2015 03:08 am

Quick, shake it by its tail fin and see if the badge drops out!

Reply Ultimate the Hedgehog, 28 Mar 2015 03:47 am

Can honestly say I didn't see that coming.

Reply Guest, 28 Mar 2015 06:30 am

Alright, evolve into Gyarados now, Atti has his "Completely wrecked places" quota to meet.

Reply Guest, 28 Mar 2015 08:22 am

@Guest: Fish, WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE.

Reply That Guy (Guest), 28 Mar 2015 11:02 am

@Marcos: And now we get to see another gym leader try to steal something from atty. I can just see it now...

"I'm not trying to steal his pokemon. I'm just trying to steal my badge that his magikarp just happened to eat."

And because everyone is thinking it....

Magikarp return.

"Give me your pokeballs!" out in front of the entire gym.

Reply Nabexis (Guest), 28 Mar 2015 12:03 pm

Karp may now train pokemon up to level 20 and they'll listen to him.

Reply sacridshadow (Guest), 28 Mar 2015 04:42 pm

lol I know a show that did exactly the same thing, but with a diamond.

Reply varsaigen (Guest), 28 Mar 2015 04:43 pm

No way is Fish giving up that badge! :P He'll evolve into a Gyarados to protect it!

Maybe Atty will have Fish X-Rayed at the Indigo League gates to prove he has the badge.

Reply Xeryce (Guest), 29 Mar 2015 07:44 am
