Hallo there. This is H0ly speaking to you from the past with a preset update. I'm currently away for two weeks, and if next weeks update isn't on the friday, it should only be a day later or so =)

Sandslash was great fun to draw. Kudos to anyone who guessed.

And then DT step aside at the last second, and Sandslash gets its back stuck in Diglet's hole. Their eyes meet for a few seconds, DT shakes its head, then spits out flames at its exposed belly.

Atty has to win to leave town. Forest pokemon are gone. First gym leader has at most one more pokemon (onyx for the easy win). DT would have to win this for story reasons except H0ly is a pokemon sadist, so the rest of this chapter should be quite interesting.

"Diglet, get it while it's completely blind and has it's eyes closed!"

She's either really bad or really good at strategy.

@Lockman: I once did. Had a level 100 Sandslash in my Sapphire game. His best attack was "Slash". But it was a one-hit K.O. Interestingly enough, it was the only time where I had the patience to train a poke to level 100.

Actually, sandslashes are based off of pangolins (Which are cuties!)

They're my favourite pokemon. Awesome job drawing 'em, I'm so happy this gym leader has great taste |D

Want to see Atty really freak out? Last pokemon is Nidoking, *my* personal favorite.

Nngh! I feel so sorry for DT in that fourth panel... He looks so cute and helpless... I just love how this comic can make me feel both happy and sad at the same time :P great work. I'm guessing you probably won't read this message (or at least not anytime soon), but still, here's hoping DT stays a cute charmander for a bit longer (even if Serialslasher does burn his eyes out xD). @undeadoranges: The question of whether or not actual animals exist in the Pokemon universe is an interesting one, sadly under-explored. How can you have mouse pokemon without mice, snake pokemon without snakes, etc?

I believe I recall there being non-pokemon fish in the anime at least once, but mostly it seems to be just pokemon, and that makes no sense.

it makes perfect sense because pokemon are the animals themselves in that world. they are just more evolved than the animal's in our world. though i think there might be some animals in pokemon special... i am not sure. though this brings the question of what the pokemon world's definition of animal cruelty is...

@Deoxys112: Unless Serialslasher doesn't have any ground-type moves. Back in the original game, Sandslash couldn't learn any naturally, and Holy has been doing this story mostly by the book.

ACK so, if Holy is keeping to the game which so far i'm seeing that's the case (well, loosely anyway)

DT learnt Ember in Viridian forest, so he'll be around level 13-ish now from the battle with Diglett

... if he forces it he might be able to force an evolution, but i doubt it XD

Sandshrew evolves at level 22 in the game, so Sandslash has a good level advantage here, hopefully Atty pulls out a hat trick with MT, but then he hasnt been training that an i doubt he even remembers he caught it if i'm honest

@undeadoranges: I would imagine that those are just classification groups rather than actual animals. (Sort of like how 'snake' refers to the group of slithery scaly critters rather than any one individual critter). Snake, mouse, etc = serpentes, mus, etc.
