Daww... DT looks so cute lying there all beaten up... Want to pick him up and hug him so badly right now... I really don't think he can put up with any more fighting at this point, he looks all spent. Also liking the expresion of Serial Slasher on this page xD It just shows how much Pokemon pick up after their trainers... Actually that makes me worry a bit about DT :P Hope he doesn't turn too much like Atty xD

I hope DT doesn't evolve and becomes the strongest Charmander in the universe. I've always hated how people pretty much always say you HAVE to evolve them. I got half way through Pokemon Fire Red with a Charmander, Pikachu, Rattata, Pidgey, and possibly two other Pokemon that I don't remember. Then I looked away at the wrong moments and my Rattata and Pidgey evolved so I stopped playing. However, that just shows that a Charmander, a Pikachu and a few other Pokemon can take down pretty much anything with enough levels.

Gotta say, burns do suck in the game. I never carry around any burn heals so when it does happen, I just stare blankly at the screen.

Serialslasher looks so cute in these panels, I just wanted to grab him and hug him... much like their trainer did XD

One of the hardest laughs I've had from this comic.
The last one I truly recall (tho I'm sure there are others), was Atticus giving DT a candybar, then putting him back in the ball.

@muffin8159063: Electricity is useless against ground pokemon like sandslash, no matter what the anime series tells you. Atty did the right thing in not bringing out his Pikachu.

I'm gonna guess that DT faints, Pikachu comes in and isn't able to do any damage, and then Serialslasher faints from the burn.

That's not the gym leader, I'm sure. Having just started to replay the game, I know that the first trainer you fight in the gym has a diglett and a sandshrew. This one has a diglett and a sandslash. Almost the same.

Or it could be that it has something to do with the comic being inspired by the games, but not directly following them. But that's crazy talk. ;)

Looking at poor DT over there does make me wonder.. how do you safely bathe a Charmander at all? I mean, the one in the cartoons always looked so clean.. There must be something that works, otherwise they'd be part poison type like a Muk after a day or two of this. :P

It's a shame none of the gym leaders are able to use items outside of various types of Potions and (for the Elite Four) Full Restores. Otherwise she could simply use a Burn Heal or hope the Sandslash is holding a Rawst Berry.

Baw! WTF! I accidentally grabbed a hot coal once and burned my hand a bit, but 20 minutes later i still had the strength to punch my little brother.

But i fell down a rocky hill and got tons of cuts and sand in all of them.... ouch.... and DT is STILL fighting....

@Grandpalove: Oh, it's definitely that trainer, but that doesn't mean that she isn't the gym leader. She could be a caretaker gym leader in Brock's constant absence - remember, Mokepon draws a bit on the anime.

That trainer is of course implied to be a dude in the games, although there was no way to be sure in gen 1...

@Marsilio: A shower brush thing, a towel and a bucket of water maybe? You could use the brush to transfer the water to the Charmander and gently brush off any dirt then use the towel to dry it off.

Actually you can get charmanders wet without killing them, it just weakens them over time. Plus they could just hold their tail out of the water. But thats not to say you need water to take a bath, there are more futuristic ways to get clean =p

er... @Guest: because they're not digging into her? they're wrapped around her side and her shoulder, they're not physically digging into her and Sandslash's quills aren't spiked up either so that wouldn't hurt her
