Hello! My, isn't it bright and early. Well thanks to you beautifull people out there being so kind as to send me some donations, it's extra update week! I'm really rather suprised by the generosity. Thankyou very much.

You may be wondering why this page is pencilled... It doesn't have anything to do with this being an extra update, I actually drew this last week. I was just curious, because you may have noticed that lately my time has been tight and I haven't been able to update as frequently. So I wondered if people would prefer sticking to how things are now, with one inked page a week, or maybe you'd like two pencilled pages a week? This is serving as an example. I think that future pencilled pages would be a little prettier than this though as I got used to it.

As for why I'm posting earlier in the day? ... Well lets just say it would suit me better getting feedback earlier, so I know how to do this next page in front of me xD

Aside from all that. I'm darned excited for the rest of this chapter. See y'all soon.

Heheh. 'Gee'.

Thank you boss for giving me today off.

I think I rather see one inked page a week.
Your inkings and tonings are always some of my favorite parts of this comic!

Keep it up!
July 2nd, 2012, 10:45 am
I myself would prefer twice a week updates, even in pencil. another battle seems to be on the way, Speedy updates would rock!
July 2nd, 2012, 10:50 am
The art looks great in pencil or in ink, but I'd prefer inked pages.

I would prefer once a week and inked. It adds more of a darkness that fits the characters more, I think. Plus the contrast makes the style more interesting. :)

As much as I like pencil, inked looks better \8D/ So it's okay to do it just once a week
@Trainer Red: ...God damn you're everywhere.

Haha,Atty, you're so clueless.

I think inked pages would be better, they are always very awesome and really make your comic stand out.

I personally prefer the inked pages, also I think you shouldn't change styles this far in the comic

I prefer inked pages/once-a-week updates. Though this one looks great and your pencil shading is beautiful, too. C: <3
July 2nd, 2012, 12:19 pm
well, i´m definitely for two pencilled pages per week :). it looks great too, and that way the story will progess quicker^^

I'd say inked ones.

I like your style so much that I'm fine waiting a bit longer for new ones. Though I'll still come back every day to check if you posted a new one.

Your comic is the best one and second fastest updater of all the comics that I follow.

Inked all the way I'd much prefer to see inked updates - while pencilled might get us through the story quicker, the comic will look far better as a whole if the pages are inked.

I prefer the inked pages myself. I's rather you sacrifice quantity than quality. Though, the pencil images are wonderfully done too, beautiful actually, I still prefer the professionalism :D

I really love the comic, though I think you accidentally a word in the first panel, second bubble.

And I agree with those who prefer one inked page a week. Just my 2 cents.
July 2nd, 2012, 2:05 pm
@Anon: Did I? I can't see it...
July 2nd, 2012, 2:16 pm
Looks great, but I still think I prefer inked once a week. I've gotten so used to the ink look and love it.

Seems like you're getting a bunch of different answers, eh? haha...

Personally, I have always been a huuuuuge fan of your pencil work. To the point of idolizing it, almost :d

So I would be quite happy with more pencil pages.

Either way, your inked work is lovely as well, and I'm patient so... Whatever works~
July 2nd, 2012, 2:34 pm
Double the updates anyone? Total awesomeness. Your art is good no matter what. My eyes don't need the extra dark lines.

I predict... an Earthquake. Or an onyx, because in the games the gym leader has one of those. So... yup.

Not that it matters. Whatever happens will be wonderful.

You could do what Brawl In the Family does. Every three comics or so, he does a colored one. Make major things inked minor things penciled? I dunno.
July 2nd, 2012, 2:37 pm
I'm all for more content over quality or whatever. It already takes forever for a webcomic to get anywhere XD

July 2nd, 2012, 2:46 pm
You should stick with the pencil pages. Its not only more efficient, but like you said, you will get better at it. You can still get pretty dark if use really soft pencils like a 6,7, or 8B.
side note: LOVE your shading

I believe that Anon was referring to the " who..." part of the second bubble. You didn't forget a word but the phrasing is just slightly awkward. Not a big deal but I'm pretty sure that's what they meant.

Now, as for inked versus penciled... as much as I would love to see more updates, and as much as I love pencil drawings, you are one of the few pro-level artists on here and the inked pages just kinda suit that better. But I'd be happy with either. :)
July 2nd, 2012, 3:10 pm
penciled or inked, I dont care. this comic is amazing and two pages a week would be awesome.
July 2nd, 2012, 3:43 pm
I like both penciled and inked pages, really, but there's something about the pencil look that I've always really loved <3 I think two penciled pages per week would be awesome.
July 2nd, 2012, 4:19 pm
Penciled looks better!
July 2nd, 2012, 4:36 pm
I actually adore your pencilled work so I'd have that over the inked one (which looks gorgeous too btw, I just like the way you do lines and shades with the pencil) any day even if it was once a week. If you put two pencilled pieces against an inked one... well my choice is definitely penciled. Though I'm really fine with anything, I adore this comic so :)

Definitely two updates a week. This still looks great.

Atticus is looking rather vague compared to George on panel 1, but besides that the penciling looks awesome.

Penciled and two a week, please. I think I prefer penciled to inked anyway, and the schedule increase is just a bonus. :)

I would like pencil twice a week because I really like this story, and want to read more of it. But! I make the insane demand that you will eventually turn those pencil made pages, inked! I prefer your inked pages and I hope to reread this comic from beginning to end and it being ink. However, this is without a doubt an insane demand, and I will accept your judgement of what you do, for I cannot see myself disliking this comic just because its in pencil, or slow to update.
July 2nd, 2012, 7:03 pm
Both! :D /shot

Actually, I prefer the inked pages, but pencils wouldn't be a bad trade for double-updates. (Your work is fantastic either way!)
I'd say pencil updates because you're so pressed for time, but go back and ink them later on if you wanted. :)
July 2nd, 2012, 7:11 pm
I prefer the inked pages, once a week.

Also, in the first panel, there's a typo in George's words. It should say "Nope, Gyms usually have people in them who want to train and things."

"them" is missing.

Reason why Atty's not blinded by dirt in his eyes Nictating membrane! Atty is secretly a fish/cat!
July 2nd, 2012, 9:00 pm
Oh poor, dense Attykins....

I love your artwork and would love two updates a week but I prefer your inked pages. They really stand out and are totally worth a keeping the one page a week.
July 2nd, 2012, 9:06 pm
Your art will always be fabulous, but the inking makes it easier to tell foreground from background somehow. My vote is for ink, too.

July 2nd, 2012, 9:16 pm
Owww poor DT I hope Atty is going to take him to the pokecenter...
Well I really liked this pencil page its looks good and understandable, but your inks are pretty so I guess I go for the ink page!
Take your time and make the things look cool and smooth :D

July 2nd, 2012, 11:14 pm
I personally like inked better... it fits the comic more. And Atty looks very faded in the first panel... ._. Which I know you'll probably get better at pencil, but I think you should stick with inked, so that the quality of the comic will stay up there..

Plus DT's flames won't look as cool ;^;
July 2nd, 2012, 11:17 pm
I say the pencil's the best. More pages a week and the artwork is still great. I'm just super impatient with updates. :)

As much as I would prefer 2 penciled pages a week, I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree that the inked is best (though the pencil still looks great). Inked just fits the tone of the comic better

@H0lyhandgrenade: I think I see what Anon was talking about...right now George is saying "Gyms usually have people in who want..." and it feels like it should be "usually have people *in them who* want..." (if that makes sense).

I'm gonna put my vote on the pencilling side. Not only because I would like double the comic, but because your pencil shadings feel so much more textured and have more depth than the inked ones (in my opinion).

I am perfectly fine with two penciled pages a week. Your art is amazing regardless and the more of this comic we get, the better.

July 3rd, 2012, 1:39 am
Actually! I really prefer the penciled ones. *n* So to get that nice texture that I love, /and/ have it twice a week? Eee. I'd love to see more pencil-work.

Keep up the fantastic comic though, whatever you do! C:
July 3rd, 2012, 2:12 am
Nah. I liked the inked ones much more. I can wait on you.

July 3rd, 2012, 2:36 am
I'd rather wait and have a great inked page once a week. Quality before quanitity! It's worth waiting for :)

If it's better for you time wise then I'd go for pencil drawings, even though your inking is epic your hand drawings are just as great ^^ Do what's best foor you dude.

A Poll Vote Perhaps you should host a poll vote... this seems like it would be difficult to get a straight answer.

I'm all for speedy updates. Ink em later and throw them into a book. I'd buy it. :]
July 3rd, 2012, 8:13 am
Wait ... this isn't inked?!

-checks last page, then this page, then last page, then this page.

Ohhhhhh ... well, I think this looked amazing anyway! :] I'm all for two penciled pages a week, but that might just be me being greedy. Would the penciled pages be eventually inked or never inked?
July 3rd, 2012, 8:20 am
OMG this is your penciled work? SO BEAUTIFUL! *A*
Either quality if perfect for me; your works are wonderful! <3
July 3rd, 2012, 9:35 am
I vote for two penciled. Your art is always gorgeous and I want to see this story progress. Come on people, it's just a temporary situation.

July 3rd, 2012, 10:37 am
... Honestly I'd prefer for 2 updates a week so I can eat them up :> I like the inked pages a lot more because of your great style with them, but for story-wise I'd rather take the 2 per week to get the story. Quality-wise I'll take 1 per week. Which ever really, I like it either ways.
July 3rd, 2012, 11:02 am
I think it looks just as great penciled so I would vote for 2 penciled a week.
Random Fan (Guest)
July 3rd, 2012, 1:22 pm
I counted votes out of boredom and got an even twenty-five votes for each... I already counted my vote too... There were some comments I couldn't decipher the opinion of though,so this may be inaccurate. People who said to do what was best, or just said that the pencil work was beautiful were not counted. I only counted the comments that seemed like clear votes to me. I'm all for posting a poll somewhere for this, cuz it was kind of a messy job to figure out what some people were voting for (That, or I'm just not very smart lol).

Yes 2 penciled pages a week please, this style is awesome :3
July 3rd, 2012, 2:40 pm
I think I prefer these penciled pages. Less work for you, more content for us!

Plus, look at the gradient on George's hair in the first panel! :)

Inked vs Pencilled I adore the more finished look of your inked pages. I've been following this since the start, your comic is great! Please keep the one page a week, inked!

I vote you go for penciled works, though mixing some ink pages in every so often is also cool. Not sure what the best ratio is, but alternating has potential.
July 3rd, 2012, 5:13 pm
haha atticut's face in the last panel is all like 'ow god why me..."
July 3rd, 2012, 5:41 pm
Poor DT! AH! I wanna hug him!
July 3rd, 2012, 7:04 pm
I'd prefer one update a week that's inked. ^^'

The pencilings have a very nice, soft feel to them, but the inked pages look more professional.

July 3rd, 2012, 8:20 pm
Although I'm more apt to jump for more frequent updates, I do prefer your inked pages. I do love your pencil work, but the inked give this comic a crisp neat quality. But above all else, I think you should go with what you personally think. I think the general opinion was that this pencil page wasn't dark enough around the outlines. My choice, though, stick to ink.
Someguy (Guest)
July 3rd, 2012, 8:51 pm
Well, asking the readers' opinions apparently gets you nowhere. >.>

So... do whichever you prefer?

EDIT: That doesn't change my vote from earlier if you're still gonna tally them all up. ;)
July 3rd, 2012, 8:59 pm
overall the inked looks better but I do enjoy two releases in a week quite a bit
July 3rd, 2012, 9:50 pm

i'm in it for the story. not to say your artwork isn't great, but pencil away.
Why, Hello There (Guest)
July 4th, 2012, 12:49 am
Visually, the inked ones were far better. They were clearer, sharper, and... despite this being in black and white, they were more colourful.

That said, I'm willing to sacrifice aesthetics if your willing to provide two pages a week. Waiting seven whole days for your amazing work is like waiting an entire week before your birthday. It's agonizing!

Of course, I'm exaggerating a lil', haha. But yea, in all honesty, I'd prefer two pages a week rather than one.
Kroki (Guest)
July 4th, 2012, 1:12 am
Oh my, this sure is clear and all, but inked pages are far more pleasant to read, I'd say quality over quantity.
Nice page by the way, I love the narrative here.
July 4th, 2012, 7:39 am
I prefer pencil as opposed to pen. The shading looks much better and gives the comic a brighter feel, in my opinion.
