Oh man has THIS been a question I've been waiting to answer xD I always just thought 'nah... I'll get to the answer in the comic at some point', and finally here we are. Dragonthing did NOT get all the experience from the forest fire. Just from the one beedrill.

I wonder if a couple of the pokemon survived, got a bunch of exp from doing that to a bunch of other pokemon and are now super overpowered. Because if so, that would make a pretty good target for the two bush lurkers.

We're all thinking it, so I'll ask. How long until some idiot asks this question AGAIN, even though the answer EVERYONE gave every time in the comment section is now official? Personally I'll be surprised if there aren't two on the next page.
There (probably) can't be an OP'ed Beedrill because most of the pokemon in the fire would have died before leveling up. Aside from which the several hundred points needed to gain a level only raises the amount given by a few points. Even if everything got one level the last surviving pokemon wouldn't gain that much Exp. Unless it was evil. The part were that could happen is one of the reasons I read this comic.

I just had a thought! The scene where DT takes down a bunch of Beedrill reminds me of when Pikachu took down an entire army of Spearows led by a Fearow. Parallells!

All Atty really did was set a Beedrill on fire and it inadvertantly set the other Beedrill on fire which then spread to the entire forest...

Surely Atty isn't the only person in history to choose Charmander as a starter, and Beedrill are known to get pissed and attack in swarms...

Odds are someone with a fire type pokemon has been chased by swarms of Bedrill through Viridian before, this has probably happened several times.

So what I want to know is...

How has this never happened before?
