I forgot to update yesterday )'8 I'm such a moron. Hope you all had a nice christmas.

Man I wish I coulda made this fight longer. None floating Geodude's are fun, flinging themselves about in a fight, but unfortunately I didn't really wanna have things dragged out longer than I already have.

See y'all soon.

Nah, I like it better this way.Lets us know that Dragonthing knows how to take care of business, kind of like how everyone loved Han Solo for shooting Greedo first, until George Lucas had to be a dick and revise it.

Since he beat the first gym does he have rock smash, and if not wouldn't a Charmeleon know the move steel claw. If so rock types would be easy.
Just a question, but what moves do his pokemon know and how many can they remember?

Well, in the games, this guy's equivalent carried around two Geodude and an Onix, so if this stays faithful to that, Atty just may be in a bit of trouble.

@Aamon: This is clearly based off of Generation I, so Rock Smash and the Steel-type (and by extension, the Metal Claw attack) aren't things yet.

As far as attacks go, Dragonthing knows Scratch and what is most likely Ember (never identified by name to my recollection, but it's most likely that). Rat knows an Electric move that is almost certainly Thunder Shock (again, I don't recall it being identified by name, but still, it's very likely IMO). And the unseen Pokémon Atty bought that is without doubt a Magikarp, I have no doubt in my mind that its only move at this point is Splash. As for how many they can remember, I don't believe it's come to that yet, since I don't think any of them have even shown up to four moves yet.

@The Missingno. Master: actually the Frealigator seen at the beginning of the comics (can't remember what strip) would suggest that while the game takes place in the gen 1 era, theres gen 2/gen 3 (fire red/leaf green) mechanics such as steel types and rock smash. but who knows

I'm pretty sure one of h0ly's comments back during the first gym fight was that this was Gen I, baby, and we didn't have no pansy Metal Claw to get us Charmander trainers through the first gym.

So while there's some bleed over from Johto, I'm pretty sure the story in the main is supposed to be all Gen I goodness.

@The Missingno. Master: Why is everyone saying this is based off of gen 1 when there was clearly a Feraligator earlier on? Or did I miss something?

@Seven: Well, Nonny's absolutely right- at some point during Atty's first Gym battle, h0ly mentioned that this was Generation I stuff, and that there was no Metal Claw to get Dragonthing through the Rock-types. Yes, there was a Feraligatr, but come on- remember Ash saw a Ho-Oh in the first friggin' episode? Remember how early on Togepi was introduced? Remember Tracey's Marill? A couple of Generation II Pokémon showed up when it was still Generation I. It happens. Hell, even in the fanfic I wrote, albeit in a very minor detail in the epilogue, we see a bit of Generation II stuff in a fic set in Generation I.

@C.a.i.r.o: I know it says that, but the Frealigator exist so it stands to reason that steel types and rock smash etc etc, do exist in this world anyway, I'm not trying to start a fight, just saying that it is not entirely clear to anyone who hasn't read the QAQ.

I love how Geodude kinda looks like an Ostrich without a neck or head in the first panel. Really interesting without the floating.

The way geodude moves here is so cool, I never really liked how the anime portrayed them as floating rocks, it never made sense to me, since some pokemon do float (levitate), so now I will always consider this to be the way they move! Love it! (reading through again :P )
