Ignore the red letter sticking out of my jumper. It's a B, not an R. For Brent. Yep.

He should probably put his criminal career on hold while George is there.

Is she trying to get him viciously beaten!? Even if you do suspect that, you don't just shout something like that around a group of multiple people who command the loyalty of superpowered monsters! Christ, George... wait until you're sure he's doing something wrong, then call him out.

Or better yet, join him on the road to absolute corruption!

@Drakey: That's literally how some people respond to situations that they assume are actually taking place. They get really loud and obnoxious. Even if said situation isn't quite what they believe.
It really sucks. She doesn't know how it works.

@Guest: Gosh. At least you're the only Guest on this page right now... I don't like typing in the word "Guest".
I'm convinced that saying something like that would work with normal Pokémon trainers. There's no way it can fail. He has the perfect disguise.

And his heart grew in size three times that day...

@Guest: LMAO, Poké-blocking. What a great pun. XD

Is it wrong to actually believe that Atty wasn't going to steal those Pokémon? He seemed to hesitate there for a bit.

Ah, NPCs, never change. You make life so much easier for bad guys by being so thick. Not that I support the bad guys or anything, I just like to crush major criminal organizations all by myself.

@SeriousJupiter: He does have a heart, but he doesn't make it apparent to people who don't have intelligence. Like NPCs. So I don't think it's wrong to believe he wasn't going to steal them. He's a good boy. He deserves a treat.
Crushing things by oneself seems like it would make them feel important. For some reason I have the desire to root for the bad guys in certain things though. Not necessarily because they're evil, but because they're fun or witty while doing it.

@Doutonbori Robo: Your feelings for the baddies are understandable. A villain can make or break a story, and they're often the most interesting and complex characters. Team Rocket (despite all their fail) were always loads more fun to watch than Ash and Co.

I kind of want Atticus to stay in Team Rocket, at least nominally, just to see what happens, but I expect he'll be leaving soon enough (maybe at the lighthouse, maybe a bit later). I'm guessing it's more likely that he'll end up taking the league challenge for the prize money and then ditch the scene right after.

Addendum: He needs a flying type to round out the team/help him travel (assuming Dragonthing won't be able to learn Fly because Gen 1).

^^Atty totally would have stolen those pokemon. I mean, I remember those trainers; it's not like anything they had was amazingly rare and for the most part they were pretty annoying. Only pokemon I'd feel bad about stealing is that top percentage Rattata. To the rest, I am so behind stealing their shit that I can't even express it.

I have a feeling Atty won't stick around long with the Rockets but I'd happily read a webcomic centered around a cynical Rocket grunt who just stole off the annoying and gave to the cunning (for a reasonable commission) like a more elitist Robinhood.

Even if Atty doesn't though, I'll still be happy because H0ly went there at all and it seems more true to his character not to really stick with it at the end (at least with the way it's going so far). So with that said; thank you H0ly for this story arc. Whereever the comic goes from here, you've definitely cemented it in my heart as probably the best fan-comic I've read and I'll follow it until the end (which hopefully will be after trouncing Kahn, or perhaps his sister for a fun twist, and becoming Champion or just getting fed up with badges and hopping the Saint Anne to Unova)

@Lanval: Wait... Paul? Ash's main rival in the Unova region? How would he even remotely relate to this comic? Do you expect he'd be the Pokémon League Champion of the Johto/Kanto regions?

Or is Paul the only one you know. Since you really only seem to want to talk about the Unova region.

I know Paul traveled, but he failed to do anything in the Hoenn, Johto and Kanto Conferences. What would make you believe that he'd be the league champion, if that's what you're insinuating.

@Doutonbori Robo: Paul was Ash's main rival in Sinnoh, not Unova. Ash's main rival in Unova was some lame boring Cheren rip-off called Trip. Paul was a much better rival, because he was not only strong, but also a complete jackass. Rivals like those are always the most fun to beat. I always feel a little guilty about beating all those friendly rivals in Gen III-VI.

@Doutonbori Robo: Not at all; I haven't followed Pokemon since they left the Johto region. It's just that I keep feeling like Kahn's name is Paul.

I don't know why; I think he just reminds me of a person I know by the same name or something about him just makes me think of the name Paul.

Eitherway, I meant facing down Kahn as the champion.

@Lanval: Oh-ho, I see. Yeah, Paul doesn't deserve it. Kahn seems to me like a self-involved elitist who's trying to make himself look good. Maybe that'll do it for him. People have done it before. :3

@MrZAP: Yeah, not to mention Team Rocket got more of a background story than Ash ever did. Probably just because they're older. Jesse's story makes me cry sometimes. It's ridiculous. You get attached to the buffoons.
I'm HOPING Abel is that one guy with the Feraligatr, and that he'll end up beating the Pidgeys out of Atticus just for wearing the Rocket uniform. I'm sure the guys that maintain the Pokémon Storage System have a fool-proof defense against criminal organizations like that. Otherwise, how could they be so successful?
I'm likely assuming that we're basing this off of Pokémon Yellow, because the comic has a statue of Ash Ketchum erected, so with that in mind, Charizard can learn Fly in Gen 1. It's really awkward how they did that though.

And even if he doesn't get DT to Fly, I'm hoping he gets his hands on a Dodrio. I'd love to see that.

@Aslandus: supr cunvincin ya.

@Doutonbori Robo: Could you give me an example of elitism on Kahn's part? I mean my impression of him over all is a lonely kid who tries to stick up for his sister and can come off as a bit of a know it all but means well. Also, not above stealing but mostly well intentioned (if not moralistic like, say, George here).

@Lanval: It's really just my impression of him; He seems like the narcissistic type. I see it as that he's trying to overcompensate, or cover something up by playing nice. But the way he goes about it displays his arrogance. This arrogance is what makes me believe I'm seeing elitist behavior from him.

@SeriousJupiter: Also, the old Rivals were far more memorable for their dickishness.

I can remember Silver stealing his Poke and slowly becoming less of a jackass.

And of course I remember Gary Mothering Fucking Oak who remained at a constant level of jackassery and awesomeness.

Meanwhile, the only other rivals I remember are Cheran and... Bianca? And that's just because that was the last game I played and even then I found them a little bland.

...Did you even have a rival in R/S and D/P? I don't really remember them at all. I mean there was some one I beat in the initial bit but... weren't they just the trainer whose gender I didn't pick in the start?

@Lanval: There were rivals in RSE and DPPt, but the ones in RSE were jokes. Brendan/May battled you only four times during the game and he/she never even had a full team and his/her starter Pokémon didn't even reach its final stage. Oh, and then there was Wally. He was a nice kid, but you only got to battle him twice during the game's story. At least you could have rematches with him after you'd beaten the League, so that's something, I guess.

In DPPt, there was Barry. He was more like a real rival, but he was still your friend. I very much doubt we'll ever get jerk rivals again. :(

I just noticed that between panels 1 and 2, Atticus changes his mind.

See how his hand goes from reaching, to grabbing as if, to say, "I can't"?
