This sort of reminds me about that bit that Ron White did about the Sunglass Hut: "I see a pair of glasses I like. I don't love 'em, I like them. 309 bucks. And I ask the guy, very politely, "How do you sleep at night, you fuckin' prick?"

@Draexzhan - Yeah its the "I'm going to take all your money for cheap merchandise" smile instead of the "I'm going to throw rocks at you until i win" Smile. Hard to decide which is worse. XD

I agree with T.Wood, the grays are a nice touch, and it adds more possibilities, like for characters.

I think that I believe so... @BattleStarX: That's not the Yen symbol or the Pokemon money symbol. That's the British Pound symbol, I believe. 10,000 British pounds is currently $15,700. In the real world, massed produced mountain bikes are like $350. Custom racing bikes are like $2,000 or more.

10,000 isn't a lot though. You can only buy 8 or 10 ultra balls for that money.

@The_mad_one

more like 833. This is in pounds not the
currency in pokemon, so I think everything
is divided by 100, e.g. a basic pokeball would cost £2, and therefore an ultra ball would cost £12.

@jolt99:
Actually, at the current yen>pounds conversion rate, a Poke Ball would actually be £1.10 ($1.72 USD), though I tend to do a mental conversion on ¥100=$1 myself when thinking about Pokemon prices.

That's actually not an unreasonable price. Bikes aren't cheap. At least, good bikes aren't. Sure, you can find cheap bikes at retail stores like WalMart for around $200, but those things are freakin' HEAVY, especially if you live on a hill.

@Jphyper: It probably seems more unreasonable for H0ly and myself as a really cheap bike in England is about £60. You can get a professional track bike for around £3000... I'm guessing the £10,000 mark would get you a custom make Olympic Games quality bike over here.

@orihalium: According to the pokédex, a normal size Charizard is about 5'7"... which I'm guessing would be a little shorter that Atty. Poor thing would die before getting him an inch into the air!

You know what I'd do if I ever found myself in the world of Pokémon (like I so frequently dream about)? Screw the bike, I'd catch a Venipede and evolve it all the way to Scolipede. That Scolipede would be my ride. The sheer badassery alone would more than make up for lack of access to any Cycling Roads.

Picture yourself riding on a Scolipede's back. Is that not the most awesome mental picture you ever got in your life?

It's not that much All things considered, it's not too bad, since Pokédollars are essentially Yen, it's equivalent to 100 bucks.

Um, 10,000 isn't all that much, it's about 10 USD (give or take a few cents)

Real life bikes cost more than that

Edit: No wait, it's 100 USD, which is a more reasonable real life bike price

it's over 9000! At that point in the game, I'd probably have mugged enough Rocket Grunts and an Exec. to have like 60,000 pokedollars to spare on a bike...probably be more than happy to fork over that much just to stop walking around, poor feet are TIRED, man!

Yes! That is EXACTLY how I felt about that sales man in the pokemon game! *mutter* I wanted to shake his shoulders and shout at him something along the lines of, "give-me-a-bike-or-else-you-will-feel-the-wrath-of-my-charmander". That should have been an option in the game.

You tell him Atty! Buy a bike just to irritate him (or you could steal one, that works to).
