It looks a far more convincing attack in the games perhaps but regardless I have no regrets.

See y'all soon.

Poor Dragonthing D: However I love that the attack looks so slow. Like if they had been on ground she could have ran around it three times.
Also how uses a high level attack like bubblebeam? No fair

@Ramia: Well, In generation 1 it is a TM, and Golduck would have to be over level 33 since that's is when it evolves from psyduck.

@RazorD9: but npcs cheat just look at lance who dunked his Dragonairs in the lake of rage then "helps" you to stop team rocket from keeping the lake pumping out good Pokémon

I think I've seen a few fan comics justify it by having the bubbles explode violently after making contact.

If soap is needed to make long-lasting bubbles, http://i2.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/facebook/000/085/283/philosoraptor.jp ,how does golduck use bubblebeam?

@Flamessnake: Mucous, perhaps? I think the whole idea is to have them explode and slow down the target. Getting concussed and slimed would probably work quite well.

@Flamessnake: I would guess that Golduck is just a fowl-mouthed bubblemaker. Has to have it's mouth washed out with soap on a regular basis ...

Nononono Noo Nooo, you don't teach a pokemon watergun AND bubblebeam, bubblebeam's basically a direct upgrade, why would you do that >.< What kind of a gym leader are youuu

@Mr. Cheshire: I think it's already been established that she's pretty cocky. She probably figures it doesn't matter if it's only Water Gun.

Also, do we know if the Pokemon can learn more than four moves here? If they can, there's a bit more justification for keeping them both.

Come on! DT lived an Elite Four's Feraligatr's Bubblebeam, when she wasn't even trained! She can survive!

Then again, she has taken several Waterguns already...

@Critic: I think you need to go take a look at that page again. Dragon Thing took 1 bubble from the Feraligatr and went skyward. It lived but it still kicked its shit in

Technically, countering with fire should be really effective, since bubbles have a really high amount of oxygen inside them. They should pop&combust quite easily

@Chelvo The typical soap bubbles that a kid would blow have less oxygen in them than the air around them. Plus the soap isn't very combustible. Now I have seen tricks where people blow bubbles with hydrogen, and you can get some big pops with those.

Wouldn't fire be the best way to escape bubblebeam? Bubbles contain air and are susceptible to changes in air flow. It should be noted that air rises with the application of heat.

Game Theorist
There's plenty of theorists who have nothing better to do and came to the conclusion that bubble and bubblebeam are compressed air in a tough membrane (go on and say 'like Naruto's Rasengan') and it's the compressed air blasting the membrane outwards like a liquid shrapnel grenade that does the damage.

What about the Movie? I think Squirtle's bubble beam against machamp in the first movie's intro was a good representation of the attack.
