o-oh I thought Luke was the guy in the cape. Not the little grass type Boy Scout.

Atty... Kick this guy's ass in.

unless he has water grass type then you might have some trouble.

@Ninja: I'm guessing Atty THINKS it's the boy scout kid but then it turns out it's the imposing cape dude. Cue awkward misunderstanding. If so, I like how the speech bubble is literally covering up cape dude, like the dude is right there but Atty ignores him. And also it means we don't get a good look at cape dude, allowing for a dramatic introductory panel when he is revealed as the gym leader.

@Ninja: This is Kanto, so I sincerely doubt that he has a Lotad, Lombre, or Ludicolo. As for me, I'm hoping he has a Vileplume so Atty can see Weed's potential.

It's the Guy He's that guy that has all the helpful information before you take on a Gym leader. The one that we always repeatedly press A for should we accidentally talk to him...

P.S. Excellent Comic

@Name_User: Shouldn't you press B? After all, it still scrolls the text and you can't accidentally talk to them again.

So what you're saying is, you already started working on the next page before posting this one, already forgot the glass, and now you're hoping this joke will make it seem more on purpose? :P

You know what would be better than the glass vanishing into thin air? Him handing it to one of his pokemon to hold while he battles. 8D

@HOly: A lot of pokemon stuff is futuristic, so just say that it's a glass of the future that magically appears in the dishwasher once a person is finished their drink :P.

Atty is going down against grass One mistake and Dragonthing is down. (Come on, a grass-type gym leader who doesn't know how to handle fire?)

Rat? Weak against ground.
Weed? Grass vs grass and Weed is very low-level.
Fish? Weak against grass.

well, okay. But i'm still expecting a Poliwirl to be in the Boy Scout's Team. Cause you know. "ALWAYS COME PREPARED, EVEN FOR THE MOST UNEXPECTED SITUATIONS."

A thing that Atty has still got to remember. Which reminds me... if the bum kid got on board doesn't that mean... George... she might be there too. Cleaver Girl.

@Ninja: You seem to forget that Gym Leaders stick with their type, though there are exceptions they are rare. This guy isn't going to whip out a non Grass-Type in an official match, and most Grass-Type Pokemon have limited move pools. The most common anti-Fire moves are Rock Tomb and Bulldoze- even the common Earthquake and Surf moves are rare for them. Sure they can bring Rain Dance to the party, but again you have a lack of Water-Type moves, and if you use a Normal-Type move you still have to consider the Fire-type's STAB and type advantage, placing you with a move doing 100% damage against a move doing 200% damage. Sleep Powder and other status conditions are easy for Grass Types to learn, but do you really want to be that guy who wins a battle solely because the opponents kept getting immobilized the whole time?

Atty might be out-matched against even the grass gym leader. When was the last time we saw DT training? Heck, Atty goes out of his way to avoid trainer battles and those give the best exp.

@Ninja: "George... she might be there too. Cleaver Girl."
In other words she's going to be disguised as a chef and chopping up pok... I mean vegetables?
