Go dragonthing! You can do this, even if it takes 300 pages.

"Cowards way to battle" Says the guy who is forcing Atty to fight higher leveled pokemon.

@Someone: RIGHT? Kirst is absolutely the kind of person I would punch in the face, in real life.
September 30th, 2015, 6:28 pm
Liking that serious face, Atty!!

Dragonthing's face is great.

Ya know, somewhere along the line, whether he'd like to admit it or not, Atty became a Pokemon trainer. This battle has made me more aware of that than ever before.

Now if he'd just start actually using more than one Pokemon, and maybe get rid of his strict aversion to nearly all Pokemon battles, he'd be all set.

@Takeshre: Oooh, more than one pokemon. Unconventional, but effective! I know you didn't actually mean "at the same time", but I think it would be great.
September 30th, 2015, 6:51 pm
Wow he's using strategy when fighting a house-sized charizard with a charmeleon.

What a coward.

I feel bad for DT's spine, that landing looked incredibly painful.
September 30th, 2015, 10:32 pm
@Unnessecary: That landing looked like it could be a upper brachial plexus avulsion. Probably more likely a disc herniation or erector spinae tear though.

Too much Anatomy, lol.
September 30th, 2015, 7:27 pm
@Takeshre He's taken plenty of battles, I believe there's the comic where he collects half of yet another bug trainers wealth.

The using one pokemon thing is supposed to mimic how most people played the original game, where you really could power through most of it and using just one pokemon was a viable strategy until you hit the elite four, and even then you just needed to bring enough consumables.
September 30th, 2015, 7:33 pm
Some say "coward," I prefer to say "creative thinking."
September 30th, 2015, 8:05 pm
Winning is for cowards. Real men fight to lose.
September 30th, 2015, 9:06 pm
@Covarr: =n= b *thumbs up*
September 30th, 2015, 11:09 pm
@Covarr: Real Pokemon trainers over-level their Pokemon by 10 levels and steamroll all opposition.
September 30th, 2015, 11:40 pm

That feeling when you utterly stomp all over your rival, from the first to the last, is something to be treasured.
September 30th, 2015, 9:47 pm
Not all battles can be won charging in head on or with strength alone, not to mention using your head in a fight is never cowardice.
'sides, a cowards way to battle is more like poison and sneak attacks on unaware targets than anything else... actually I'm not sure that a "Cowards way" to battle even exists. I mean, so long as you are still standing and/or in better shape than they are by the end of the fight... does it really matter?

I don't think so.

I'd throw in that "At the end of the day, when you are alive and your foes are not, cowardice doesn't matter more than hairs on a fleas ass." But pokemon battles are "last man not KO'd" rather than to the death so it doesn't really apply all that much.

Edit: Oh right so I realized that bit with poison and daggers being cowardice could be insulting to anyone who's played some non generic Rouge/thief class in D&D or the like but... let's be honest, Rouges and Thieves are not meant to play fair.
Hmmm... A Charmander with a squirt gun thing filled with napalm... Insulating that thing from the heat they give off themself would be a bitch but it would be kinda interesting.

As Nietzshce said, "He who battles trainers should look to it that he himself does not become a trainer..."

Atty uses the same strategy that I use in every video game ever. Yeah I'll spend half an hour slowly wearing down a dragon from afar, I got time.

Badass line, Atty, badass. Just make sure you don't eat those words as I'm fairly sure that charizard has better endurance.

Coward's Way Funny, I thought the coward's way was to fight an inferior opponent by proxy of a superior force.

You tell him, Atty! Even if you'll probably lose horribly anyway.

you know, cape boy is starting to really piss me off
October 1st, 2015, 5:29 am
can we have a scene where someone punches capey?

How the f**k did Kirst make gym-leader? First he harasses Atty for daring to take type-advantage into account when choosing a fight.

Now he ridicules him for trying to stay alive while fighting a superior enemy.

How the f**k did he ever make Gym-Leader?
Using Kirst's strategies you would lose most fights and it would take an eternity to level up your Mokepon.

Maybe they said "We need a dragon-type gym-leader. Anyone. Meh, this guy sucks but at least he's got a dragon."

@Eversor: I think he might not be an actual gym leader. I think he might just be Laika's tag-along.
Terminal Devastation
October 1st, 2015, 12:11 pm
@Eversor: Clearly he wins all of his battles by goading his opponents into totally unfair fights, and gym leadership qualifications merely takes into account how many wins you have. Either that or he impressed something with his ability to fend off all the top 1% of ratata's out there.

@Eversor: Well, in the games Claire exists. A gym leader so immature and jerkish that she doesn't hand out badges to the people who defeat her and throws childish tantrums instead. Gym leaders need to do only 1 bloody thing and she failed at that spectacularly.

Kirst is pretty dumb too (seems to be required for Johto Dragon gym leaders) but at least he seems more mature than Claire.
October 2nd, 2015, 2:59 pm
@Zant: You know, for one thing, Whitney is the one who does that and she calms down quickly. Secondly, Clair does say that she doesn't think you're ready for the Elite Four, plus down in that Dragon's Den place is the useful Dragon Fang item.

I can imagine Atty using potions every 5 minutes prolonging it

HHG your a good writer but i think everyone agress that the gymleaders for the most part are borderline retarded

let me teach you a lession about bullying by being a bully (which atty wasin't anyway)
YOUR A COWARD (hides behind the charizard that doesin't even belong to me because i can't be assed to fight you myself)

And if your doing it intentionally i'm too annoyed and angry at these characters to care they are all dipshits i don't want to learn a lesson from them they are cheep lazy jackoffs that I want to see crash and burn because of how unpleasant they are.

I second the vote for punching Kirst. He needs to shut his spectator mouth and stop trash talking from the sidelines.

@Kira: Pretty much my thoughts... just about every gym leader we've come across so far is either a psycho or a douchebag... or both. The grass gym leader earlier seems to be the only only that doesn't act like a egotistic prick. At least not yet.

Yes because playing to your opponents strength of power far above yours is cowardice
