Between the Poison Powder and the sudden disobedience, that Farfetch'd is pretty much just a sitting Dux right now.

And now the battle will stall with both sides ignoring orders until Dux faints via poison.
OR
Maybe Dux saw the Oddish badge George is wearing and thinks she's rooting for the wrong side.

@Parcent: It doesn't really matter, at least not for this battle. If Dux and Venus both won't attack, then the one who isn't poisoned will win.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Venus doesn't actually count as a traded 'mon.

Oddish - trainer rarely gives commands and gets to do what ever (s)he wants.

Farfetch - Trainer he barely knows tells him to fight a killer bulb while poisoned.

Charmealon - waiting to be relevant again before finally defeating someone important.

George - your average pokemon trainer you meet in games. Now you know why they act like they do.

Even if Venus does actually count as a traded pokemon, she's still going to obey because she evolves at level 21, and the cascade badge makes pokemon obey until level 30.

Technically speaking Venus is a gift Pokemon as there was no trade for it. Gift Pokemon are something that had existed since the original games. Gift Pokemon unlike traded Pokemon are seen as caught Pokemon where you may as well always been the owner of. They don't have the bonus exp but will also always obey you.

That for the lore reason. I think H0ly just wanted an excuse for Atty to have an Oddish without physically catching it himself as he already used his one (stolen) Pokeball on Pikachu and spent all of his money on cancer sticks.

@Guest: O yea, I did forget about them. Well, it is really up to H0ly at the end of the day. At least Dux prove legit trade rules apply.

Ignoring Orders You guys do realize that Atty almost never tells them what to do in the first place, right? He just sends 'em out and lets them have fun. The only time he gets involved is if the Pokemon-er, I mean Mokepon is losing. Because of this, Oddish has no orders to ignore. It just does its own thing, which just so happens to benefit Atty.

@Syntras: ... So, what you're saying is, Oddish should happens to be a terrible sadist who enjoys causing other Pokemon harm, and this just conveniently happens to coincide with the Pokemon Atticus wants it to defeat anyway?

Sadist Oddish @MrZAP: Bingo. As for Dragonthing... Well, she loves Atty too much to ignore orders.
Remember, in Red/Blue, all Pokemon, not just traded ones, ignore orders when above the level threshold.

That always drove me nuts. I mean, okay, you don't trust my judgement, fine, but when a Growlithe is setting you on fire, you can at least do SOMETHING.
