@H0lyhandgrenade: The greatest. XD Enjoying where this is going though. =)

I'm curious what end result will be. George is currently one currently causing issue cause, In all seriousness this could end up as the worst case scenario to Dragonthing. If takes that avenue anyways that is :T

Not so Simple?
I wouldn't necessarily say she's causing problems. It's the old question of does the needs of many outweigh the needs of a few? There's arguments for both sides, and I'd say it's a rather ambiguous question.

George just fell on the side of many vs. the few in regard to Atty's plan. It does look like she's going to try and help rescue Dragonthing though, so she isn't in line for abandoning the few entirely.

Edit: I wanted to add that "many vs. the few" gets more complicated in this scenario since Atty's decisions will also impact the people's Pokemon. Just because the humans are jerks doesn't mean their Pokemon are, and Team Rocket isn't known for treating the Pokemon they steal well. So the Pokemon are the ones ultimately paying the price for something that isn't their fault.

@Unknown: I was talking in a subjective "personal" way. I mean the discussion on the topic could be elaborated, but I was being intentionally simple. It was simple comment. I was merely noting in narrative and in this comic visual sense they come off at the most in negative light they have so far.

I wasn't really thinking on discussion. More on curiousity of end result. Plus noting how "George" is being protrayed

However thanks for reply regardless.

Ah! I misconception on my part then, sorry. Glad my thoughts were appreciated regardless. :)

In regard to what you meant, I agree. George's approach to the conversation may not be the best one for someone like Atticus. I love the visuals in this too.

George looks like she's gonna join the dark side in that lighting, and I'm like "yesss George, join the dark side, THEY HAVE CAKE! :p )

True friends are willing to tell you that you are an asshole.
June 10th, 2019, 6:30 pm
I don't think he'll even accept her help even if she offered it. The whole atmosphere basically screams that this is it, they aren't ever going to be friends. Gotta face reality here amigos, they are about to part ways. XD

@Guest: I don't think they're about to part ways. George might not have a high opinion of Atty right about now, but they do agree on one thing- Dragonthing deserves better than being held captive by Team Rocket. Atty might not be willing to accept help from others often, but he's in something of a desperate situation here. His whole big plan to try and get her back got shut down, so right now, he'd be a damn fool to not take whatever help he's lucky enough to get offered. Besides which, even if he initially refuses, George has been on Atty like stink on a Grimer this whole time, I just don't see her giving up now, not when the life of an innocent Pokémon hangs in the balance.

Honestly, I'd like this to be where Atty breaks down and tells George that everything she just said was right, but I'm not holding my breath for it.

I want to be able to say you’re right, but look up episode 35 ‘the legend of miniryu’ of the first series (it was banned from tv in a few countries)
The Missingno. Master

@L16htW4rr10r: Guns do exist in the world of Pokémon, but they can't be very commonplace. I mean, think about it- they got these little metal balls which they can use to contain magical creatures that they can very well tame and befriend, creatures who on command will attack with stuff like lightning bolts, streams of fire, high-pressure torrents of water, vile sludge, martial arts techniques often delivered with superhuman strength, and all sorts of other stuff, and not only that, but can also withstand such onslaughts themselves, mostly with no more severe a consequence than simply losing consciousness, and you expect them to instead opt for the... piece of metal that shoots a... smaller piece of metal? What kind of idiot would bring a gun to a Pokémon fight?

I really don't see any way these two end up ever really liking each other at this point, let alone why she continues to follow him if she thinks he's not a good person.

But who the hell is George to say that Atty doesn't deserve a Pokemon like Dragonthing?
June 10th, 2019, 11:15 pm
@Josh Spicer: George sees Atty as a terrible person, and believes DragonThing deserves a trainer who will take better care of her and keep her safe. By associating with Team Rocket, Atty put DT in danger. Also, George can definitely recognize that Atty isn't the most affectionate trainer....
June 11th, 2019, 12:35 pm
@Josh Spicer: Someone who knows Atticus joined Team Rocket, stole a bunch of Pokemon and has taken terrible care of his Pokemon that are not DT?

Like. I wouldn't say he *deserves* to have DT either but that isn't the same as thinking it is fair that she was taken away or that she deserves to have been taken away as Team Rocket isn't known for their care of Pokemon either.

This is where we find out George has been just playing around, right? That she's really a highly skilled trainer, and she's just been playing stupid in the hopes that Atty would step up and grow into the role?

Because what she's saying here shows she's far more adult and insightful than she's been letting on until now.

George She's never been a dunce. She can be a little naive at times and doesn't notice everything right away, but she is intelligent and insightful as well.

She chooses eternal optimism, but she is capable of making mature decisions and facing reality. The reason she followed Atty after confronting him is because a) a truly bad guy would have tried to get away with the crime but Atty backed down/out, and b) because she sincerely wants to save DT, even if Atty doesn't deserve DT.

If they don't have some kind of bonding moment through shared adversity, they would likely part ways after rescuing DT. As the previous page shows, Atty is way more sensitive than he lets on.

He's been on the verge of total breakdown for a long time now. What he needs most is a shoulder to cry on and the willingness to let his tears out freely. I don't know that George can/would fill that role, and I don't know is Atty would let someone help him in that way. His pride and her principles are getting in the way.

@RASP: Ah! Unless I'm wrong about the emotion Atty shows in the previous page. Maybe that's anger and resentment instead of the verge of tears... That expression could go with either depending on how the eyes are drawn. We'll have to wait another page at least before we know which emotion was in his eyes.

It's easy to side with George, since Atticus is the one making the bad calls lately. But I think doing so is giving her too much credit. Her stance here isn't a sign of maturity, it's a sign of naivety. She's a child, looking at the world in black and white.

Atticus is not a bad person. He's a foolish, prideful kid in a tough situation. He's scared, he's alone, he's got nobody to turn to and nowhere to go. He's done bad things because he is desperate and bitter and far out of his comfort zone.

And despite all the horrible things that have happened to him throughout this story, he has been trying to improve. Which is why when George says Atticus is a bad person, and that he doesn't deserve Dragonthing...

Well let's just say Atticus isn't the only character who needs a slap upside the head.

Ouch, that's gotta hurt XD

Now, any time now, George will do something to get dragonthing back, but maybe won't let Atty keep dragonthing without her supervision or something, I can feel it
June 11th, 2019, 6:50 pm
@Videogamer80: Unless she's a lot more capable than she's been letting on and is actually an elite trainer unbeknownst to Atty, I somehow doubt it. But she has been acting out of character quite a bit lately, so it wouldn't surprise me at this point lol.

I feel as though George doesn't quite grasp that Atty doesn't really have a choice at this point but to be a "bad" person. He has been informed that he can't just leave Team Rocket. He's been threatened. For all he knows, DT could be straight up killed if he doesn't do as they command. I get where George is coming from, but I also think that she needs to see the bigger picture of Atty's predicament instead of passing cruel judgement on him when he's just trying to save himself and his pokemon.

Is it just me, or does Atty's complete lack of response and movement on this page make it seem like he has finally been overtaken by sleep? Poor guy has really been through a lot since arriving in Vermilion City, hopefully things turn around for him and he gets Dragonthing back. I do think that George was being too harsh about the whole attempted Poke-theft, considering she already made him return them.

I really love this comic but I'd like to comment on the shadow on George's eyes, it feels a bit too... pronounced ? She looks like she's wearing a bandit mask.
The rest of the page is top notch, though !

I'll be honest with you.
Fuck you George.

Atty may not be the best, by a long shot, but damn if you are not a piece of work.

You put an Eevee in a microwave, you stole a cruise ticket, you made your own farfetch'd faint, you capture troves of pokemon who are destined to forever become a string of data until the day they are finally wiped to make more digital space. I could go on.

When was the last time you hugged your own pokemon? The only time we see them out of their pokeballs is to battle, and even then you don't even train them. At all.

No pokemon deserve to suffer you.
If you are this much better than him, then why don't you go save dragonthing, huh?

If my option was to suffer Atty, or suffer you, George, I'd take Atty all day of the week.

@Krasudreal: I was waiting for a list of things that George did wrong because i KNOW she has been FAR from a good Pokemon trainer herself.

In some ways she's been a worse one than Atty.

Thank you for this.

@Krasudreal: I'd go as far as to say it's BECAUSE Atty is willing to do this that Dragonthing deserves him, and vice versa. Bad person? Maybe debatable (not like he had a choice). Bad trainer? Not for DT at least.
June 16th, 2019, 7:38 pm
@Teth: Agreed. Atty and DT may have had a rocky start but they've gotten close and moreover, Atty's "bad training" made DT the wonderful individual and superb fighter that she is today. He's not conventional, but he's effective. His hands-off approach had made her independent yet still fiercely loyal.
June 13th, 2019, 3:02 pm
Lol, after all that.

"By the way, Atty, even though you just did a huge thing you are still a bad person and you deserve everything bad that happens to you. Just saying."

TBH, this might make me sound like a rotten person but I kind of hope Atticus tells her to fuck off and their relationship breaks off completely. Not because I hate George, Just because it seems like the sort of thing Atticus might do when pushed this far. I mean in his eyes she is actively the only thing standing in the way of him getting Dragonthing back
